Wild Privet (Ligustrum vulgare) plants, seedlings

Ligustrum vulgare is an ornamental shrub of the Oleaceae family.

Height up to 5 m. Shoots hairy. The leaves are lanceolate, 2-7 cm long and 0.2-2 cm wide, tapering to the apex. Their upper side is dark green and the lower side is light green. The rings are white, concentrated in brooms. The main axis of the whisk is overgrown with dense hairs, the lower part with leaves. Blooms in July. Fruit – black, shiny berries, with 2-4 seeds. The fruits ripen in September-October. and persists on the forks until mid-winter.

Ligustrum vulgare is an ornamental shrub used for pruning hedges. Drought and dust resistant. Grows well in a variety of soils. In very cold winters it freezes to the snow cover, but it sprouts, blooms and cools quickly.
